Loyal #11

Strip laminated Juniper

Loyal #11 is made with the wood of a dying Juniper tree in our front yard. I harvested and milled the wood myself and left it to dry for a couple of months. Thin strips were carefully steam bent and shaped into a large hook shaped boomerang. The handle is made with a remnant Purpleheart piece. A big copper weight decorates the trailing wing while a copper colored epoxy inlay decorates the handle. 

This boomerang has the most impressive flight of all my booms so far. Every time it’s flying way out there it seems impossible it will return. But it does, and it’s a great thing to watch!
