Engelmann oak natural hook with strips and handles

Loyal #4 is the result of a rescue operation on an imperfect, but promising natural elbow. Both the tips and the elbow were reinforced with pieces of Satin ash hardwood. To further strengthen the joints, strips of Bocote were carefully steam bended around the inner and outer elbow all the way to the wingtips. To improve the distance of the flight, two brass weights were inserted into the wingtips.
