Bamboo strip lam with copper inlay

The leftovers of a bamboo floor remodel were salvaged into a strip laminated hook style boomerang. Both tips were enhanced with pieces of reclaimed fiddleback walnut. To enhance the spin and distance, pieces of copper were placed in both wingtips. The copper in the handle was hammered by hand and carefully shaped to match the curves of the walnut. Bamboo is a lightweight, fast growing type of grass with incredible strength. The result is an easy to throw boomerang with an impressive and very accurate flight.
